Descent Movie Production
Talking about The Descent movie production, initially its writer and director Neil Marshall's was not willing to produce this film. The reason being is that he was wary of producing it as he thought of getting typecast as a horror film director, as he had already had the credit of making a horror film with Dog Soldiers being made in 2002.
However, finally he got ready and the production of Descent movie started. The caste of the Descent movie included Shauna Macdonald as Sarah, Natalie Mendoza as Juno, Alex Reid as Beth, Saskia Mulder as Rebecca, MyAnna Buring as Sam, Nora-Jane Noone as Holly, Oliver Milburn as Paul, and Molly Kayll as Jessica. Craig Conway portrayed one of the film's crawlers, Scar.
Although the plot of the Descent movie was based in somewhere in the Appalachian Mountains of North America, the North America, the Descent movie production took place in United Kingdom. The production of Descent movie exterior scenes took place at a place called as Ashridge Park, in Buckinghamshire in England, and the production of Descent movie’s interior scenes took place at the sets that were built at Pinewood Studios near London because filmmakers thought it would be dangerous and time-consuming to picturised the scenes at the actual cave.
The design of the maze cave used in the Descent movie production was designed by Simon Bowles and his work was highly appreciable. The Descent movie production had got a tough competition from a film that was being produced in America with almost same storyline known as, The Cave. Although, the release date of the Descent movie was originally scheduled to be in November 2005 in United Kingdom, however with The Cave’s production started six months before its competitor, the producers of The Descent decided to release the film before The Cave, so the Descent movie production got on a fast-track to be completed by the end of February 2005.
